Behind or Ahead
What comes to mind when you wake up in the morning?
If we start each day feeling that we’re behind, how does this shape our day, our week, our long-term goals?
Falling behind may evoke additional feelings of being overwhelmed, of having no time, of needing to organize.
Conversely, if we start the day feeling that we are ahead, how does this shape our day, our week, our long-term goals?
Feeling that we’re ahead may feel good for a while, but it can create stress because of the constant pressure to stay on top.
Whatever those first thoughts, they set the energy for our day.
Clearly, feeling “ahead” is preferable to feeling “behind.”
The bigger issue is: how well does either narrative serve us?
And to what extent?
The reality is we have the power to choose the day’s theme.
Does it have to be either/or, or something else?
It depends on what perspective we want: ongoing growth, deficit or surplus, scarcity or abundance.
Take a moment and think about the daily narratives that shape your founder decisions.
