Before Adding More to Your Life, Subtract First!
We all have areas in our lives that drain our energy. This might be a connection with someone who demands much from us but rarely gives back, whose presence evokes stress and leaves us feeling diminished. It could be a habit, a task, a job, or an environment that initially excited us but now saps our motivation and inspiration—and even raises our anxiety.
Over time, these drains become a low-grade fever that affects us daily. They don’t incapacitate us, but they do prevent us from living our best lives and achieving a higher vibration. Sometimes, we continue engaging in these draining activities because they are habitual, because we feel obligated, or because we don’t see another option. We might stay stuck because we fear change or are reluctant to step out of our comfort zone, even though it could lead to positive outcomes.
Do you know what is draining your energy? Chances are, you do. Take some time to reflect and identify these sources of depletion. If possible, communicate and work to improve the situation. If that’s not feasible, give yourself permission to step away and recharge before it arises again. Commit to managing it better in the future and observe how that feels. Another option is to remove this draining source from your life entirely. Tap into your personal courage, step out of your default mode, and advocate for yourself.
Sometimes, enhancing your life isn’t about adding more; it’s about removing the energy drains and making space for positive things. By stopping activities that deplete your energy, you create room to focus on endeavors and tasks that uplift your spirit and enrich your life.
You deserve to connect with your best self.
